Doug and Shannon Chapman believe children are our future, and that’s why they’re excited to be opening their new art franchise in Bow Ridge.

Opening its doors to the public April 5, the Eagle had an exclusive look at 4Cats Arts Studio, which will feature a number of different activities, from clay sculpting, to painting and different craft projects. The Chapmans' focus will be getting children of all ages interested in art, whatever capacity that might be.

“We had been looking for arts courses our kids could take, but we couldn’t find much, ” said Doug. “One day a friend of ours posted a link to 4Cats on Facebook, we asked her about it and just became inspired from there. ”

The arts studio aims to teach children how to create art in different mediums, through organized classes and summer camps. It was founded in Victoria, B.C. in 2005, and currently has franchises in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Europe.

The grand opening of the Cochrane location will be from 12-4 p.m. at #4, 1 Bow Ridge Road.
