It’s the final call to nominate someone for the Cochrane Community Awards.
Accepting nominations until April 11, the Cochrane Community Awards shines a light on individuals, businesses, schools and groups that help make the town a vibrant, friendly and thriving community.
“We all know someone extraordinary,” said Community Awards committee member Rebecka Freels. “Now it’s time to nominate them so their contributions can be celebrated.”
Freels urges Cochranites to take a look at their neighbours, colleagues, community leaders, local businesses, community groups, schools and seniors and to nominate someone who has made an effort at improving life in Cochrane.
There are 12 award categories and they include Mayor and Council’s Order of Cochrane; Business of the Year; Employer of the Year; Community Builder of the Year; Ambassador of the Year; Citizen of the Year; Senior of the Year; Education in Action; Volunteer Group of the Year; Pathfinder of the Year; Youth of the Year; and Newsmaker of the Year.
Nomination forms are available online at ccawards.ca and at the Cochrane RancheHouse as well as the Family and Community Support Services building.
Once all the nominations are in, winners will be honoured during a ceremony May 25 at the RancheHouse.
