The annual ‘Cochrane Farmers’ Last Minute Christmas Market’ is off to the races this Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The annual market will be held on the second floor of the Spray Lake Sawmills (SLS) Family Centre, with more than 70 vendors set up along the running track.

“This is our third annual market we’ve done in partnership with (the SLS Centre),” said market manager, Valerie McCracken.

“It’s pretty much all make it, bake it, grow it.”

Sponsored by the Cochrane Environmental Action Committee (CEAC), the Cochrane Farmers run their weekly Saturday markets at the Cochrane Ranche June through October; the ‘Last Minute Christmas Market’ is their sole winter event.

Entrance is by donation (either money or non-perishable food item) to the Activettes Food Bank.

The market is geared toward vendors with homegrown, locally-sourced products; some re-sell or commercial items are also available for purchase.

Some of the vendors who will be in attendance include Uncle Bernie’s All Natural Meats, Dor-Bel Fine Foods, Dovedale Treasures and Crafts by Renate.

Various activities for kids including a Santa photo shoot, skating with Santa, Kid Zone Bouncers and an SLS Centre colouring contest for kids will be taking place on the main floor; regular SLS Centre drop-in rates apply.
