The Nan Boothby Memorial Library’s annual Red Carpet Fundraiser will be held at the Cochrane Movie House this Nov. 28 from 6:30-10 p.m. and the film du jour is none other than Tombstone.

In celebration of the western film’s 20th anniversary, fans can be transported back to the era of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, all in support of ‘project facelift’ for the library – a general overhaul and facelift of the facility.

“The library is such an important part of our community,” said head librarian, Kathryn Foley. “Anything that comes in through fundraising, we will seek to have that dollar amount matched through provincial grants.”

Foley said with the cowboy climate being such an integral part of Cochrane’s culture, the library board felt that a screening of such an iconic western flick would be sure to drum up some sharply dressed cowpokes at the event.

“It’s the 20th anniversary of the film and it seemed like this would be something that would be suitable for our area,” said Foley.

The evening will also feature a cash bar, door prizes, complimentary appetizers and refreshments. The attire is classic western and tickets are available at the Nan Boothby Library and Bentleys Books.

Tickets are $35.
