The spring theatre production for Cochrane High School (CHS) will be The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The “sweet and intelligent musical comedy”, as noted by CHS teacher-director Ben Janko, will run March 19-22 at the CHS Lyceum, beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15, available at the door or by phoning the school at 403-932-2542.
“It’s a witty, sweet and intelligent comedy about six quirky 12-year-olds who find themselves thrown into the pandemonium of their county’s spelling bee,” said Janko.
“There is a strong element of improvisation as real audience members are called up to compete for spelling bee glory. This Tony award-winning musical deals with mature content and is only appropriate for ages 14 and up.”
Janko added that he is really pleased with the level of commitment displayed by his musical theatre class.
