Rick and Kristine Sarsons will be hosting their premier tea party at the newly renovated Water Valley Church — the community’s go-to spot for everything entertainment and arts-centric.
For $25, tea lovers are encouraged to bring their own special teacup and the story that accompanies it to the Water Valley Events Centre (the church) from 2-4 p.m. May 10.
Those attending can RSVP to [email protected] or confirm with the Sarsons at 587-226-7567.
“I’ve always wanted to have a tea party and now we have the perfect place to do it. I get to share all of my beautiful antique china, pretty cups and saucers I have collected for all these years,” said Kristine.
“That’s why I’m calling it ‘My Cup of Tea Party’ — so many of us have been handed down cups from moms, grandmas, aunties, and they all have a story. We picked Mother’s Day weekend so that those who wanted to do something special with their moms could do that.”
The afternoon will be complete with the musical stylings of sisters Jessica, 19, and Kate, 21, Pereversoff, who will be playing a medley of classical and traditional violin music.
“I was given a violin when I was five and Jessica acquired when she was young, too,” said Kate. “It’s the sound of the violin — we both enjoy fiddle music a lot.”
The sisters, who are both studying music at post-secondary institutions, are regulars at the annual Water Valley Celtic Festival.
A display of books from author, Catherine Scheers, will be on display and available for purchase; door prizes donated by Red House Video and Gifts will be given out; and a variety of tea and goodies will be made available by Cochrane’s own Tea and Other Things.
