A pair of Cochrane schools will see new faces in the principal position starting in August 2013.
Susan Parker will fill the principal role at Ecole Elizabeth Barrett School, while Nancy Dutchik will take the helm at Mitford Middle School.
Parker has worked at the pre-school, elementary, middle and high school levels for Rocky View Schools (RVS) and the Calgary Board of Directors since 1983.
Dutchik has worked for RVS since 1990, first as a social studies teacher and a department head at Cochrane High School, then as assistant principal at Langdon School in 2010.
Superintendent for RVS Richard Bass said he is excited to have Dutchik at Mitford.
“(Dutchik) is a highly engaged school teacher, who is self-motivated, innovative and carries a passion for 21st century teaching and learning.”
Bass feels Parker is a perfect fit at Elizabeth Barrett.
“Outside of her ability to build trust while bringing focus to new teaching practices,” said Bass, “she possesses the ability to forge strong relationships with staff, students and parents.”
