Ocgrow Group, the largest developer for the upcoming community of Greystone, hosted a ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the launch of the Vertos project on Aug. 2, that plans to bring 150 luxury townhomes to Cochrane.

A ground-breaking ceremony by the largest developer for Cochrane’s upcoming Greystone community, Ocgrow Group, marked the start of the Vertos project on Aug. 2.

The Vertos project is slated to bring 150 luxury townhomes to the future subdivision, part of several upcoming phases of development by Ocgrow Group.

Once complete, Greystone will include 300,000 square feet of retail space with Greystone Commercial, and plans to house new start-ups in the Ocgrow Professional Development Centre.

At the ground-breaking on Aug. 2, CEO of Ocgrow Group, Harish Consul, argued that with the new properties officially under development for Cochrane, Greystone will become one of the premier sites in Canada to live in.

“We have the SLS Centre next door, a new hotel, and the discovery centre is being built and opening in September, so we are very excited,” Consul said. “It’s great to see all the support and we thank the Town of Cochrane as well.”

As Cochrane’s populationn continues to surge, Consul noted the town is on the way to becoming one of the prime destinations to move to.

“We think when you are 45 minutes from Banff and 25 minutes from the airport, this quality of life is a special place,” Consul said. “There will be a lot of growth ahead. We want to manage it carefully and prudently with the team, and we hope to share some exciting news ahead.”

With continuous support leading up to construction getting underway, Consul wanted to extend a special thanks to Burnswest and the Burns family, Josh Hagen, and Guy Desmarais.

“As well as of course, the Town of Cochrane, the mayor, all the councillors, the planning department, have been very supportive since day one,” Consul said. “I also want to thank Ocgrow’s team. We have a large team of consultants and staff that all made this happen.

“You can’t do this alone, and I’m grateful for all their support.”
