One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 22, approximately two kilometres south of Cochrane.
At roughly 1:15 p.m. today (Feb. 13) Cochrane RCMP and Rocky View emergency crews were called to the motor vehicle collision south of James Walker Trail involving a Burnco cement truck and a 2008-10 red Ford Ranger pick-up truck.
The driver of the Ford Ranger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the cement truck was assessed by EMS at the location of the collision and released on scene.
Witnesses indicated that the southbound pick-up truck lost control and crossed the highway into the path of the cement truck, which was heading north toward Cochrane.
RCMP on scene said preliminary information suggested that road conditions played a significant role in the incident.
The identity of the deceased is not yet being released until notification of next-of-kin.
