Next week it’ll be July, and that means one thing: the Calgary Stampede is back.

The “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” kicks off July 4, and as is tradition, the stampede-music festival-party scene, will attract families, concert goers, and stampede enthusiasts from all across the region, Canada, and other parts of the world.

Stampede also means Pancake Breakfast time as businesses, community groups, and politicians in Calgary and the surrounding area plan to dish out the favoured breakfast cuisine to hungry Stampeders.

As of Tuesday, June 24, there are many pancake breakfasts planned for the upcoming stampede weeks. There will be plenty of pancakes to go around.

Beginning July 3, the day before the official stampede kickoff, the BGC of Cochrane and Lions Club are hosting its pancake breakfast at the Lions Event centre in downtown Cochrane from 8am to 11am.

On July 4 Cochrane Dodge and Cochrane Toyota are hosting a joint pancakes breakfast from 8am to 11am at the Dodge dealership. Thirty minutes later, at 11:30 am, Bow River Dental Centre is having a free stampede lunch at its location on Bow Street Common.

The next day, July 5, Fireside of Cochrane has its stampede breakfast from 9am to 11am at the Fireside Central Park. Aside from pancakes, there will be a DJ, inflatables, a petting zoo, line dancing, and face painting.

On July 9, from 8am to 10am, Shops of Pioneer Plaza will have its stampede breakfast at 519 1st Street.

And finally, Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie will have his annual stampede barbecue at his constituency office at 60 Railway Street from 11am to 1pm where there will be free food, line dancing, and prizes to give away.

There will no doubt be plenty of free pancakes and barbecue items to go around for any Cochranites to enjoy during the weeks of stampede.
