Police have their eyes peeled for a young man after a Cochrane resident reported an attempted vehicle theft on West Terrace Crescent.
On the morning of Feb. 12, a lone male was seen trying to gain entry to a vehicle in the West Valley community. The owner of the vehicle approached the culprit, who took off in a grey minivan. A media release from Cochrane RCMP stated that a partial licence plate for the van was obtained: BHC-064.
According to police, the minivan struck a silver or white two-door car as it fled the scene. RCMP believe the two-door vehicle to be driven by an accomplice.
The suspect is described as a male in his late teens. He was wearing a red hat and a black, hooded sweatshirt.
Cochrane RCMP believe the alleged incident was targeted. Anyone with information regarding the minivan or the suspect is urged to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
