Cochrane town council voted on several public-at-large appointments during their Jan. 14 meeting, approving 12 applicants to six different boards and committees.
The town continues to search for three applications, as the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, Cochrane Environmental Committee and Assessment Review Board each fell one person shy of what is required under the Municipal Government Act and Procedural Bylaw.
The Cochrane Planning Commission, Protective Services Advisory Committee and Family and Community Support Services Advisory Board had all of their vacancies filled.
Those appointed were as follows:
Protective Services Advisory Committee: Lama Al-Yafi, Brenda Sine and Jack Rudd.
Cochrane Planning Commission: Alex Reed.
Family and Community Support Services Advisory Board: Laureen Bowess and Linda Derkach.
Assessment Review Board: Shirley Begg, Penny Mellor and Stuart Ray.
Cochrane Enviro-nmental Committee: Wayne Akey.
Subdivision and Development Appeal Board: Aaron Gertzen and Rebecca Davidson.
Town communications manager Emily Cargan said anyone wishing to submit their application for one of the three remaining vacancies is encouraged to do so as quickly as possible to ensure work for each committee can proceed without delay.
