A three-year-old was airlifted to Alberta Children’s Hospital Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle.

Cochrane EMS responded to Redwood Meadows at approximately 9:20 a.m. to a report of a child being struck by a vehicle. Due to the injuries and distance to the hospital Cochrane ground crews requested STARS Air Ambulance to attend the scene.

Paramedics determined on-scene that the three-year-old boy was struck by a pick-up truck reversing in the driveway.

Paramedics attended to the boy on scene as he had sustained a serious lower arm injury and other soft tissue injuries, but he was taken to hospital in serious but otherwise stable and non-life threatening condition.

RCMP continue to investigate the incident and no other injuries were reported.
