COCHRANE— Due to extremely high winds and dry conditions, a fire ban has been issued by the Town of Cochrane, effective immediately on Thursday (April 1).
The ban is expected to be in place until “green up” has occurred according to the release issued by the Town.
A fire ban is issued when extreme fire danger is present in the environment. Currently, no campfires, burning of wood products or charcoal briquettes are allowed during the ban.
The use of gas or propane stoves or barbecues and portable propane fire pits are still allowed.
