Alberta Transportation has announced upcoming traffic changes for the Highway 1A/22 Interchange project, beginning the evening of Thursday, August 28, weather permitting.
The Town of Cochrane shared the update in a Facebook post, reminding drivers to stay alert.
“We appreciate your continued patience as this major project progresses,” the Town wrote. “Please drive with care, follow signs, and expect short-term adjustments as crews work to improve long-term traffic flow in the area.”
The changes mark part of the final phase of interchange work, with full completion still on track for late 2025.
Starting August 28:
- Eastbound Hwy 1A to northbound Hwy 22 traffic will route through the east roundabout.
- Re-aligned lanes on Hwy 22 will open for both directions.
- New exit ramp for southbound Hwy 22 to the west roundabout will shift to a temporary alignment.
Closures:
- The temporary roundabout will be closed.
