Enjoy some holiday cheer a little early at the 24th annual Kananaskis Country Christmas crafts sale. The sale is happening Nov. 14-15 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Redwood House, 1 Manyhorses Dr. in Redwood Meadows.

“We’ve worked for many years to make this craft fair local, unique and handmade. So, this year it really reflects that. We have some great new vendors that really offer some cool gift ideas,” said fair co-organizer Faith McLean.

She said the fair is for people “who are tired of hectic, manufactured, big box store holiday shopping.”

“Think: delicious homemade toffee, fun chunky knitted scarves, and gorgeous unique pottery. These are gifts your family will treasure for years – pieces you can pass down for generations. The holidays are just more special with these types of gifts.”

The vendors come from all across Alberta, with many of them from Calgary and Bragg Creek.

“They are people who work hard making unique pieces, and we’re happy to help support them.” The event is volunteer-run, and all of the money raised (including concessions) goes back into the community to support all sorts of programs.

“Redwood Meadows is such a Christmasy place! It’s a chance to escape for an afternoon and relax in the evergreens. MUCH better than fighting for a parking space at the mall.”

Admission to the craft sale is free of charge, but donations are encouraged.
