Two Cochrane High School curling teams will be taking part in provincials after winning in the Rocky View High School Sports Association playoffs on Feb. 4 in Airdrie.
The high school’s boys and mixed teams claimed their division banners to advance to the provincial tournament being held in Ponoka on Mar. 3-5.
The mixed curling team is skipped by grade ten student Jessica Wytrychowski and consists of Spencer Crawford (lead), Katherine Gillett (second), and Ian McLennon (third).
The boys team is skipped by Max Murchinson, and consists of Carter Cugnet (lead), Zac Cugnet (second), and Lucas Malin (third).
In Grade 9 finals, both Cochrane High and Bow Valley High School teams came second to Chestermere.
