Two Cochrane hockey players have been selected for the 2017 Western Hockey League draft.
Bantam AAA Airdrie Xtreme teammates Ty Bauer and Nick De Beurs - fresh off their win at the 2017 Alberta Cup - were two of 230 players drafted from around western Canada and the United States over 14 rounds of selections.
Bauer was selected 41st overall by the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds in Round 2, while De Beurs was picked in the eighth round by the Red Deer Rebels.
