Cochranites Bill Gibbons and Leilani Du Toit both won gold in the 8-ball pool competition at Zone 2 (Big Country) qualifying for the Alberta 55+ Summer Games.
Bearspaw’s Ernie Domshy won silver in men’s 75+ Callaway golf.
Bonnie Barnett took gold in women’s 65+ Callaway golf and Bob Barnett gold in men’s 65+ Callaway golf. Bernadette Thibault took bronze in women’s 65+ low gross and Frank Hutchins took bronze in men’s 65+ low gross.
In bocce, Cremona’s Adeline and Bill Fedyk won gold.
Dan Stuehrenberg, Cliff Hoffman, Karl Gibbie and Doug Campbell claimed bronze in floor curling with Hoffman and Campbell combining for silver in floor shuffleboard.
Roswitha Schmitt-Blouin won gold in women’s 60+ swimming 400 metres. Henry Wilson won gold in 75+ men’s swimming 50 back, 100 back and 50 free.
Joan Logan and Marni Campbell-Peacock won gold in tennis. The Alberta 55+ Summer Games go July 16-19 in Strathmore.
