Cochrane curlers performed at provincials last weekend, with three teams pushing onto the podium.
The Grande Prairie Curling Centre hosted the Alberta 55 provincial championships, with 26 rinks from across the province competing for top spots. Zone 2, which includes senior players from Banff to High River, Strathmore to Olds and Sundre, sent strong teams to represent the area at the three-day event.
The Black Diamond/Turner Valley rink, skipped by Lloyd Nelson, earned a gold medal in the 65+ mixed category, while Springbank’s Janet Biagioni, Carmen Olson, Karen Dreaver and Lynn Hartsburg brought home bronze in the 55+ Women’s division.
Another bronze went to Cochrane’s Doug Campbell, who drove to the button in the 55+ mixed category with teammates Ingrid Schmidt, Bob Pisatcky and Lorna Harrison.
