After spending the previous four seasons with the Texas Stars (the Dallas Stars’ American Hockey League affiliate), Cochranite Justin Dowling has signed with the big club.

Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced on May 31 that the centreman was offered a one-year contract (per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.).

The 25-year-old finished fifth on the Texas roster with 46 points (11 goals, 35 assists) in 52 regular-season games during the 2015-16 year. His 35 assists were third-highest on the team, which tied a career high.

In four Calder Cup games this year, the 5’10, 190 lb. player recorded three points (two goals, one assist).

During his time with Texas, he recorded 173 points (63 goals, 110 assists) in 229 career games.
