Cochrane hockey player Dillon Dub é has been re-assigned to the Kelowna Rockets after spending four months at the Calgary Flames training camp.

In June, the 5’10’’ 182-pound centre was picked up by the Flames - selected 56th overall in the second round of the NHL draft.

The club announced yesterday on its website that the roster has been trimmed by 11, reducing it to 49 players.

Dub é grew up in Cochrane and has dedicated most of his young life to the game, leaving his Alberta home at 14 years old to attend Saskatchewan’s illustrious Notre Dame hockey prep school.

He made the move from Notre Dame to the Western Hockey League’s Kelowna Rockets in 2014, and collected 27 points in 45 games during his first year there. He stepped up his game in 2015/16, loading up 26 goals and 40 assists over the course of the 65-game season.
