The Cochrane Generals surprised their biggest fan last weekend with a hockey stick autographed by all the players on the team.
“I was completely shocked,” said Deidre Fennell, who has been a loyal fan of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League team for years. “They all signed it.”
Players Austin Keller, Logan Brown, Connor Rendell, and Corey Goeson presented the stick to Fennell at the Gens’ first annual Ugly Sweater Pub Night at The Venue Bar & Grill.
In addition to the surprise for the team’s biggest fan, players and coaches were also auctioned off to do holiday chores for the highest bidder. Coach Dan Gendur said the evening was a fun way for fans to get to know the team in a more social setting.
“It just kind of puts a face to what the fans are seeing on the ice,” he said.
