In hockey, timing is everything. Cochranite Colby Chartier’s timing couldn’t be any better.
In his second season with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Calgary Mustangs (3-12), the 5-foot-10, 175-pound sniper is coming home to shoot for the Cochrane Generals. Chartier is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the Gens’ offence, currently struggling to score goals early in the Heritage Junior Hockey League season. He put up six goals and 22 assists in limited ice time over 45 games in the AJHL.
“We were looking for a player who could come in and spark our offence, and feel we’ve found it in Colby,” said Generals head coach Evan McFeeters of the 18-year-old forward. “We can build our offence around him. He’s automatically going to help out the power play.
“He’s definitely going to be a leader.”
