Here today, gone tomorrow.
That sums up George King’s Cochrane Generals career.
The 18-year-old forward has committed to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the 2016/17 season after having only played 20 games for the Generals this past season.
“I’m excited to join a great organization and great community,” King said of the Bulldogs and his new home. “Alberni has a tradition of being a good team on and off the ice, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute in any way possible.”
The Calgary native – who stands six-feet-tall and weighs 175 lbs – was brought in by former Gens head coach Evan McFeeters from the Banff Academy Bears with only a few games left in the regular-season as the Cochrane side looked to add some more firepower and grit to what was already one of the top offensive teams in the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) during the 2015/16 season.
King played seven regular-season games recording 14 points (five goals, nine assists), before racking up six points (two goals, four assists) in 13 playoff games as the Gens lost the HJHL Finals in heartbreaking fashion to the Mountainview Colts.
