Three Cochrane Lions have been named as Calgary Bantam Football Association League All-Stars for the 2016 season.
The CFBA – which includes 13 teams from Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks and Cochrane – recognized 14-year-old Derek Reid, who plays slotback, as well as running back Eli Springer and quarterback Xavier Vaillancourt, for their outstanding contributions to the field. Coach Paul Vaillancourt said the trio will be recognized at a banquet on Dec.1.
In addition, Vaillancourt was also one of 30 ballers hand-picked to play on the Calgary Selects team. He will head to British Columbia next month for a youth tournament against other strong football players chosen from around the west.
