The Rocky Mountain Raiders female midget team of the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League (AMMFHL) are heading into provincials as the top-seeded team in the five-team tournament, which takes place Mar. 24-27 in Peace River.

The team will be facing Peace Country Storm, Sherwood Park Fury, Calgary Fire, and PAC Saints.

During the regular season, Fury finished just two points behind Raiders, while Fire placed third losing only two more games than the top two teams in the league.

Storm finished sixth in regular-season play, picking up 17 losses and half the points Raiders did.

Raiders, who include three Cochrane players, swept past Edmonton Thunder in the playoffs, after earning a first-round bye for topping the league in regular-season action with a record of 23-5-1-3.

Raiders smashed Thunder 6-1 on home ice at Scott Seaman Sports Arena in Okotoks on March 13, before taking game two 3-0 on March 18 to advance.

Cochranites Nicolette Seper and Megan Campbell had a stellar first game with Seper grabbing four assists and Campbell two.

In the second game, Seper picked up an assist.

The top four teams in the province-wide AMMFHL, including hosts Peace Country Storm, will be playing a round-robin format before the top three teams advance into the medals round.
