Milans wrestle way to payday

Cochrane cowboys Tanner and Straws Milan added some jingle to their jeans in Canadian Pro Rodeo action at the Strathmore Stampede. The steer wrestling brothers were both in the money during the event, which ran July 29 to Aug.

Cochrane cowboys Tanner and Straws Milan added some jingle to their jeans in Canadian Pro Rodeo action at the Strathmore Stampede.

The steer wrestling brothers were both in the money during the event, which ran July 29 to Aug. 1 at the Strathmore Rodeo Grounds.

Straws finished tied for second place in round one of the competition, along with Coleman Kohorst. Each cowboy picked up a time of 4.1 seconds and bagged $1,668.49.

In round two of the event, older brother Tanner tied with Cody Cassidy for first place, recording a lightning fast time of 3.8 seconds and picking up $1,939.05.

As the rodeo season starts to wind down the summer, the Milans are tied in the Wrangler Pro Tour standings on 130 points, while in Pro Rodeo Canada rankings Tanner is ranked eighth overall with Straws coming in at 14th.
