Due to low registration numbers, the Cochrane Midget Lions football team has been forced to fold for the upcoming spring season.
The decision was made to not field a team before the Calgary Midget Football Association held its league meeting last week,
After having 35 kids register for the program last year, only seven had pledged to take part for this season, while numerous players who said they were interested had yet to officially register.
Players who are still interested in pursuing midget football now have a chance to with other teams in the area such as Airdrie or Okotoks.
The future of the Cochrane midget football program is as yet unknown.
