Two Cochrane cowboys are off to the Canadian Finals Rodeo next weekend.
Brothers Straws and Tanner Milan both qualified in the steer wrestling category at Canada’s largest annual indoor rodeo, taking place Nov. 9 to 13 at the Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton. The qualifiers represent two of the 12 best athletes from across the country competing in the event.
National titles are up for grabs in seven different rodeo sports, as well as more than $1.5 million in prize money.
The Milan brothers are no strangers to the rodeo, with Tanner winning the CFR twice in the past. Both are well-known showstoppers at the Calgary Stampede and many other competitions around North America, and older brother Baillie and father Murray are also fixtures on the steer wrestling scene.
