The Rocky Mountain Raiders went into the Pacific Championships with fire in their bellies, and were rewarded with a championship.

The AAA female midget champions of Alberta, includes three Cochrane players: Nicolette Seper, Kara Kondrat, and Megan Campbell.

Raiders beat their archrivals, the Prince George Northern Capitals, in the Mac’s AAA hockey tournament finals in back-to-back games to advance to the national Esso Cup being held in Weyburn, SK, on April 17-23.

The Raiders smashed their opponents 3-0 in the game one, outshooting the Capitals 41-24 and bagging a goal in each period.

Seper, Kondrat, and Trotter all got on the scoreboard for their team.

The second game was also won by a score of 3-0, and the Cochrane connection again proved to be crucial.

Seper – who was recently named the MVP of the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League – bagged a goal to add to her season tally.

The Raiders opening game at the five-team Esso Cup takes place on April 17.
