The Seniors 50 Plus Curling League’s fall season is finished, with two teams rising to the top of their respective draws.
Skip Darcy Ferden – along with Lynn Dosdall at third, Doug Dickau at second, and Jas Houghton at lead – recently earned the Wednesday league championship, while Ken Munro’s rink, including third Vern Cote, second Bob Campbell and lead Bob Ford, took home top prize for the Friday club.
With Cochrane’s new curling rink at Spray Lake Family Sports Centre set to gear up in the fall with six sheets of ice, the seniors’ league hopes to expand its membership with more players next season. Currently, the Wednesday and Friday clubs both have nine teams each.
Anyone interested in signing up as a spare when the 50 plus group starts up again in January can contact league coordinator Bill Strain at (403) 851-0280 or president Gary Hawkes at (587) 362-4777. All skill fitness levels are encouraged to reach out.
