The Cochrane Skating Club is celebrating the success of its the first competition of the season.

Fifteen members – three juniors, five intermediates and seven seniors – participated in the Edmonton Region Open hosted by the Derrick Skating Club from Dec. 2 to 4.

Several athletes brought home medals for their performances.

The Cochrane club just completed its fall programming and is moving into the heart of the season, with a few new offerings for those who love to be on the ice.

Families of younger children and home-schooled kids, who are often available earlier in the day, can now take part in Daytime Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate programs, and older youth who haven’t yet had an opportunity to learn to skate sign up for the new TeenCanSkate session.
