The hot streak continues.

Bow Valley Bantam AA Timberwolves defeated West Central Tiger 4-2 on Nov. 15 at Kurt Browning Arena to bring their undefeated streak to three-in-a-row in the South Central Alberta Hockey League (SCAHL).

T-wolves (7-5, 2nd North Division) were coming off a previous 9-2 win over local rivals Airdrie Lightning, and looking to keep the momentum going in their favour.

They got off to a flying start against the Tigers as Ethan Noble scored (Dean Olenyk and Caleb Willms assisted) to give the visitors a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

Tigers clawed one back six minutes into the second period, before Bailey Petersen gave Bow Valley the lead (Olenyk again the provider).

Tigers evened things up in the third before two goals from Nathan Lam (one on the power-play assisted by Ty Parker and one unassisted) gave T-wolves the win, as their defence bunkered down and shut out Tigers for the remainder of the game.

“In truth, it wasn’t our best game,” Tyson Soloski, Timberwolves head coach said. “But, we battled through it.”

Soloski’s team have scored 19 goals in their last games, and conceded seven. While it is clear that T-wolves offence is on fire, does he think that the defence could be more focused?

“Every once in a while we have brain farts where we don’t play for five or six minutes, and we let the other team score and get back into the game,” he confessed.

“However, overall we’re pretty solid defensively, I can’t complain.”

T-wolves next Taber Golden Suns (10-3-1, 1st South Division) at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, on Nov. 21.

It’s a challenge Soloski knows will be one of the toughest his team face.

“It’s going to be a very tough game,” he said.

“Taber are the best team in the other division, and we need to come out hard or we could take a heavy loss.

“We need to play a full 60 minutes.”

Puck-drop is 4:15 p.m.
