Cochrane High School Cobras volleyball teams achieved the unachievable this past weekend, as their four school teams did exceptionally well at Rocky View Sports Association’s Divisional gold-medal games.
Senior boys and senior girls teams beat Bert Church High School (three games to one in both match-ups). Junior girls side defeated George McDougall High School (three games to zero), and the junior boys lost to Springbank Community High School (three games to zero).
“Winning three gold medals and a silver at Divisionals has never been done before in the same sport, in the history of Rocky View Sports Association.
After I heard about all the success, I started going through the archives on the Rocky View website and asking people who have been at the school a lot longer than I have,” said senior boys coach Doug Jensen. “No one can remember when this has happened in any sport.
“We’ve made history in Rocky View and at Cochrane High.”
