Man dead after shooting at Ajax, Ont., GO Transit station: police

Police east of Toronto are searching for a suspect after a shooting at a GO Transit station left a man dead Sunday night. Durham Region police say officers responded to an assist ambulance call at the station in Ajax, Ont., around 11:30 p.m.

Police east of Toronto are searching for a suspect after a shooting at a GO Transit station left a man dead Sunday night.

Durham Region police say officers responded to an assist ambulance call at the station in Ajax, Ont., around 11:30 p.m.

They say when officers arrived they found a man in his 20s with gunshot wounds, and he was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he was pronounced dead.

They say investigators believe the shooting happened between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. and was "isolated and targeted."

Police say they're searching for at least one male suspect who fled the area on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
