Police say they are on the lookout for a Ontario man wanted for murder after three bodies were found in a burned-down home.

Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to reports of gunshots late Friday in Bracebridge, Ont., about 200 kilometres north of Toronto.

Police say officers found one man dead and a home fully engulfed in flames.

Investigators later found two more people inside, but say their identities cannot be confirmed until after a post-mortem exam is complete.

They say police began searching for the 29-year-old suspect, issuing a shelter-in-place order that was lifted hours later.

Officers say the suspect is not believed to be a threat to others or to public safety.
