Letter to the Editor: Pet owners must take care with smoke in air

Many dogs end up in vet care due to smoke inhalation.
LETTERS

Cochrane's air quality (last week) was in a 9 and 10 for smoke. I drove by the small off leash dog park where I saw many dog owners out with small dogs running after balls and outdoors in this horrific smoke. Many dogs end up in vet care due to smoke inhalation. As this smoke filled air is very harmful to our lungs; fine air particulates. It is just as harmful to any pet. I have heard more vet visits occur due to ill informed pet owners taking their dogs for walks with terrible air conditions.

Can we please do an article on this?

Thank you.
