Letter to the Editor: Too many climate alarmists out there

According to Travis Smith (“Too many Uncle Rickys out there”, Sept. 26 paper) there are far too many Uncle Rickys out there when it comes to the ‘facts’, as he understands them, of climate change.

According to Travis Smith (“Too many Uncle Rickys out there”, Sept. 26 paper) there are far too many Uncle Rickys out there when it comes to the ‘facts’, as he understands them, of climate change.

Smith mockingly presents Uncle Ricky, a caricature of anyone who doesn’t support Smith’s fervent position on climate change, as a drunken, poorly-read dolt, who probably, among other things, believes that the earth is flat. Unlike Travis, of course, who prides himself on being a highly-informed, well-read scholarly individual, and unlike poor Uncle Ricky, is able to the distinguish the ‘truth’ propagated by the United Nations and individuals like Al Gore, Justin Trudeau, and Klaus Schwab with the World Economic Forum from fiction.

Climate Intelligence (Clintel), a global network of over 1900 scientists and professionals, including several Nobel laureates, has issued a “World Climate Declaration”, a one-page summary of the view of many climate realists in the world, simply summarized as: There is no climate emergency. No doubt Travis Smith would mockingly characterize those scientists and professionals as a bunch of Uncle Rickys because a contrary view to the globalist scam of man-made climate change, buttressed with alarming stories of impending doom because of the increasing amount of CO2 produced by human activities, simply can’t be tolerated.
