Town communications creating new ways to reach residents

It is hard to believe it has been just over seven months since we were elected.

It is hard to believe it has been just over seven months since we were elected.
Being that I campaigned on public engagement, I am excited to see that there will be no shortage of opportunities for the community at large to voice their opinion over the next few months.
Whether the proposal of transit or transporting people around town interests you, the proposed Greystone community, the Tri-Site Concept plan, or weighing in on the regulations surrounding cannabis, it is important that your voice is heard throughout the process.
The Town of Cochrane’s communications team is working hard on creating new and informative ways to reach the public at large and I urge you to keep up to date. Cochrane has so many projects on the horizon that  making sure you have an understanding of what is going on in town and what is coming up will be valuable. There is nothing more disappointing to me than when I hear residents say they had no idea.
Your feedback is important and becomes part of our consideration in the decision-making process as this is our community together. I am excited that web streaming council meetings will soon be available and that we are trying new and exciting ways to engage residents. With communications being a rapidly changing market we need to be a little everywhere all the time.
Check out the new Let's Talk Cochrane online portal, follow the Town of Cochrane Administration Facebook and Twitter pages, and connect with members of town council by email and social media.
There is never a concern that is too small to be brought forth. I can't stress enough how important communication is to myself as a town representative and how we can become a truly connected community by listening, hearing and collaborating.
I look forward to hearing your opinion on how Cochrane should advance some of the decisions it is faced with making and what the outcome will be. If you would like to connect for coffee, a phone call, email or social media message, please reach out.
