MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police say a three-year-old Montreal girl who had been missing since Sunday has been found alive in Ontario.

Claire Bell was reported missing by her mother on Sunday afternoon with little information about what had happened to the child, sparking a massive police response.

Quebec police say she was found alone around 3 p.m. by Ontario Provincial Police along Highway 417 near St. Albert, Ont.

Quebec Sgt. Éloïse Cossette says Ontario police used a drone to spot the little girl near the highway.

Cossette says the girl was conscious and able to speak with officers.

Quebec and Ontario police are expected to hold a joint news conference later today.
