Alberta Health Services (AHS) has lifted the water quality advisory that was issued Aug. 8, 2025, for the water in the Cove Beach area of Chestermere Lake
Water quality, including fecal bacteria levels, has returned to an acceptable level and the health risk is low for usage of the lake for recreational purposes.
Visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time.
AHS is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta.
The Cove Beach area is located within the Calgary Zone of AHS.
