CALGARY — Two men are dead and a third man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following an apparent shooting in northwest Calgary late Friday. Police and EMS were called to Sandarac Place N.W. around 8:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire.

WESTLOCK, Alta. — Police say a 36-year old man from Ontario has died after a skydiving crash in a central Alberta field. Westlock RCMP say they were alerted to the crash around 1:50 p.m. Friday.

CALGARY — The union representing workers at the Sofina Foods/Lilydale poultry processing plant in Calgary is calling for the immediate closure of the plant following a COVID-19 outbreak.
