Both W.G. Murdoch School and Crossfield Elementary School are gearing up for a series of student showcases and holiday concerts to be streamed virtually for attendees this week.

The Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC) has faced a challenging year in caring for and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, with an increased demand for its services and a decline in donations.

Several communities in southwest Rocky View County, including Bragg Creek, Redwood Meadows, and the Tsuut’ina Nation, experienced high winds on Dec. 1, resulting in thousands of toppled trees, long-lasting power outages, damage to critical infrastructure, and a fatality.

Starting in the spring, municipalities will not be allowed to use photo radar in transition zones. Nor will they be allowed to run photo radar in construction zones, except when construction workers are present.

Albertans who are 18 and older will be eligible for a booster shot early next year.
