The lack of seasonal rainfall and heat wave in June and July amplified problems faced by producers. Conditions have become so bad farmers have been forced to begin reducing generational herds during the height of grazing season.

Right now some 80 per cent of indigenous communities don’t have access to reliable Internet in the province, and roughly 67 per cent of rural communities can’t get a stable connection.

"In this case, the situation changed to life and death in an instant. Instead of continuing to flee, the man turned and directly attacked the officers," said an ASIRT report released Wednesday.

Revenues for the three months ended June 30 increased 6.1 per cent to $201.4 million from $189.8 million in the second quarter of 2020.

Nusaiba Al-Azem, a vice chair of the London Muslim Mosque, said Muslim communities expect tangible change from all levels of government to address rising anti-Muslim hate. 

“We obviously can’t mitigate the natural ignition sources like lightning, but the fire ban helps limit opportunities for human-caused ignitions and hopefully that makes a difference.”

Departmental officials will start consultations and keep them going even during an election campaign, said the employment minister.
