Ryan McMahon will be playing at The Hub Cafe and Wine Bar on Jan. 26 as part of his In Line for a Smile tour that takes him across Alberta and British Columbia.

The Venue Bar and Grill is in the Christmas spirit with a number of bands to celebrate the holiday season.

"The songs I write, and that I perform by others, typically revolve around either themes of loss and redemption – or have what I hope is wry wit and clever wordplay. Yes, sometimes I take a slanted view of society."

“When people think about Christmas and Winter Holidays, music is always one of the things we associate with this time of year. Music has a direct connection to our oldest, fondest memories. This is probably one of the reasons why audiences love to come out and hear us at this time of year."

Local performer Martin Russell and some of his musical friends are getting into the holiday spirit while preparing for his upcoming Christmas Concert on Dec. 7 at St. Andrew's Church.

"We've had such a big lead up, we're ready to take over and just do it. It's such an incredible show too ... I go home every day and tell my parents what I've done because it's their generation of songs that we just get to give to them." 

There will be plenty of Christmas themed events for the town to enjoy.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church on George Fox Trail is inviting the public to come and see Tenore, an award-winning vocal group who will be performing a Christmas concert on Dec. 14.

KT Calcutt will be playing two shows in December at different venues in Cochrane.

The sixth annual "Crazy4Crafts" Bearspaw Christmas Market will take place on Nov. 22 and 23 at Rock Pointe Church.
