Up-and-coming local pop star Lexi Strate has been nominated for artist of the year for the 2016 Western Canada Music Awards. Strate, 22, was born in Calgary and has called Cochrane home for the last five years.

The Beaupre Artists’ Guild is holding its annual Art Show and Sale and Spring Tea on June 11 and 12. June 11 will feature art on display from a number of the guild’s members as well as complimentary snacks and refreshments.
