Dear editor: I read in the Dec. 26 edition of the Cochrane Eagle that you are encouraging readers to write in and not to be shy or nervous, and definitely not to be silent about a situation that is good or bad.

Dear editor: My heartfelt thanks goes out to Randy Meikle and the people at Cochrane Dodge. We were chosen to be the focus of a Christmas project organized by Cochrane Dodge.

Dear editor: The Cochrane Music Society wishes to thank Val Townsend and the staff at The New Oak Tree for their tremendous support of our ‘Music of Christmas’ concert held Dec. 10.

Dear editor: Cochrane still has lots of small town attitude. I filled up my car with gas at the Fas Gas service station and was about to add windshield washer fluid.

Dear editor: I just wanted to commend Lindsey Seewalt on her “Boys Will be Boys” article. I would be grateful if you could pass this message on to her. As a mom with a six-year-old boy developing on his own timeline, this really resonated with me.

Dear editor: The walls are rising, the asphalt applied, greeters and associates employed; Wal-Mart is about to open. It will be another step towards an unwelcome mediocrity, a world dominated by cheapness and easy accessibility.

Dear editor, My son and his fiancé moved to Cochrane about six months ago and as soon as my first visit I was charmed by your town.

Dear editor: The most important figure I look for in the town operating budget is the change in net cost of operations. According to the executive summary, the increase in 2013 over 2012 is 5.7 per cent.
