A 24-year-old male from Barriere, B.C. is dead and another, 29, from Didsbury was air lifted to Calgary after a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 22, two kilometres north of Cremona.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

Responding to the collision on Jan. 25 at 1:05 a.m., members of the Didsbury RCMP, EMS and the Cremona Fire Department arrived at the scene to find two male occupants on the ground in the east ditch near a severely damaged, white Dodge pickup, presumably ejected from the vehicle.

STARS Air Ambulance transported the 29-year-old male to Calgary.

A section of the highway was closed for five hours during the morning of the rollover and traffic was rerouted while emergency crews attended the collision.

An RCMP collision analyst from Calgary attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

Police are not releasing the names of the two males at this time, and as of Jan. 28, no charges had been laid.
