Seniors on the Bow of Cochrane and Area will host a forum featuring all candidates for election in the federal riding of Banff-Airdrie (formerly the Wild Rose riding).

The forum will occur Oct. 9, 10 days before the election, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The auditorium is located on the second floor, Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre at 800 Griffin Road East.

Candidates will include the Conservative Party’s Blake Richards, the Liberal Party’s Marlo Raynolds, the NDP’s Joanne Boissonneault and Mike MacDonald of the Green Party of Canada.

No admission will be charged since Seniors on the Bow view this as a public service, said Douglas Campbell, past chairperson of the seniors board and moderator of the evening event. “We have held similar forums during one municipal and two provincial elections in the past three years, and the hall has been filled each time,” Campbell continued.

Candidates will speak on a preliminary list of topics on national and international issues such as the economy, energy, environment, national security, law and order, health and aboriginal relations.

The public can submit their own topics and questions for the candidates which relate specifically to this riding to [email protected].
